VolunteerNow® Education and Training

VolunteerNow is a national thought leader in volunteerism. We recognize that nonprofit organizations can make a greater impact on the community when they effectively engage and manage volunteers. To facilitate this process we offer practical, cost-effective training and consulting on all phases of volunteer engagement and management.

Our workshops provide the foundation for building an outstanding volunteer program. Each session is designed to enhance core competencies in volunteer management and facilitators are subject matter experts, hand-picked based on their understanding of nonprofits and volunteerism.

I have attended a number of trainings at VolunteerNow because they are ALWAYS helpful in my work with volunteers. I get current information and ideas on how to teach, train, recruit, write great volunteer job descriptions and help our volunteers feel welcome!

Volunteers are a vital resource that requires effective engagement and management to drive significant and sustainable impact for nonprofits. However, organizations are not always fully equipped to make the most of their volunteers. How are you leveraging this invaluable resource to strengthen and build capacity for your organization?

How Ready is Your Agency for Volunteer Engagement? is an interactive 2 1/2 hour training and professional development course for agency leadership and volunteer administrators at all levels. Participants will learn the key components of a quality volunteer program and evaluate the readiness of their organization to successfully engage volunteers. A benchmarking assessment tool will help participants identify their current strengths and opportunities. They will then set priorities and identify next steps appropriate to their specific agency needs.

The course is ideal for anyone responsible for working with volunteers, whether you are new to the field or a seasoned professional in need of a refresher in best practices. Program managers, executive directors, agency leadership, and volunteer leaders are encouraged to attend.

Participation in this training will lead to:

  • A better understanding of the key elements of preparation for effective volunteer engagement
  • An assessment of the agency's current readiness compared to industry benchmarks
  • An agency specific action plan to enhance readiness for effective volunteer engagement
  • A more successful engagement process for increased satisfaction from volunteers, staff and clients

Cost is $65 for VolunteerNow members and $90 for nonmembers. Special thanks to Wells Fargo for their support in development of this training.
