45 Years of Impact

This year, VolunteerNow is celebrating its 45th anniversary of transforming the North Texas community through volunteerism. As part of celebrating this milestone anniversary year, VolunteerNow will be honoring exceptional volunteers through our “Volunteers Change Everything: 45 Years of Impact” initiative.

The series launched on February 2 and recognized Lynn McBee, Chief Executive Officer of Young Women’s Preparatory Network, as the first of 45 volunteer honorees. Ms. McBee is a noted community leader and volunteer extraordinaire who was nominated by Ruth Althshuler. Mrs. Altshuler received the 2016 VolunteerNow Lifetime Achievement Award at the Tenth Annual Hearts of Texas Luncheon.

“Volunteers Change Everything” nominations for this award will be accepted through November 15 and each week a new volunteer will be profiled online, through social media, and collectively in VolunteerNow newsletters. For more details, email Nadia Hill at pr@volnow.org.

“Honoring 45 volunteers who make a difference every day is a fitting tribute to volunteers to their legacy of impact and VolunteerNow’s years of service to North Texas,” VolunteerNow CEO Tammy Richards said. “This volunteer recognition series is our way of both commemorating VolunteerNow’s 45th anniversary and recognizing volunteers at all levels, from the boardroom volunteers to those volunteering in the direct service roles.”
